You will meet with a diabetes educator to have a tiny sensor along with a recorder placed to track your glucose levels for a 72-hour period. This is different from daily finger sticks because this device is able to record glucose levels every five minutes. The device is very small and is easily hidden under clothing.
After testing, you return the device to the clinic where the educator uses the computer to download results. The information will be used to revise your medications, meals, and/or activity plans. A referral from your provider is required.
