Sebasticook Valley Health (SVH) is committed to be “Top of Mind” and a source of pride in the community, and as such, is committed to providing observational/clinical opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field by completing a job shadow or by meeting their college level clinical rotation at SVH.
Healthcare Career Exploration: Get started exploring healthcare careers by taking a self-assessment test to identify a health career that matches your personal likes and dislikes.
Student Experiences at SVH:
- An SVH job shadow is a 2-4 hour observational experience designed to give an individual an opportunity to see first-hand some of the skills involved in a specific healthcare career and to speak with an employee currently employed in that field.
- An SVH clinical externship/partnership meets the clinical requirement of a degree program in which a student is currently enrolled. The number of hours is dependent on program requirements. Institutional agreements are made between the higher education institution and SVH prior to accepting students in a particular specialty area.
Student Application for Observation: Students in all categories are required to complete and submit an SVH application for observation. The SVH application is available in word format for those who would like to complete and return it by mail or in PDF for those who would like to complete it on-line, scan, and e-mail.
